Read Me A Story

My sweet friend Emily has an endless wealth of knowledge about children's literature- of which I know nothing!! I lamented to her that the library overwhelms me ESPECIALLY when I have my boys with me and that I needed a plan. She was so sweet to type up a list of her favorite books, authors, and illustrators. She loved doing it so much that she decided to start a blog about the subject. You should check it out here - your kids will thank me! :)

If you scroll all the way down to her first post you will see the list she wrote up for me.

Sarah, Thanks so much for the plug about my blog. By-the-way, my windows remain handprinted too. I've given up!! You can definitely tell which windows the girls prefer! I keep telling myself that I'll miss seeing that one day. Who knows?! But only you can write it in such a way that tears are streaming from my eyes, laughing. Love to you! Emily

I love, love, love Emily's blog - we've read lots of those books but there are quite a few I've never read or we don't have at the library. I really need the girl suggestions! For boys we just found a great series by Dan San Souci - they are illustrated stories about the author's childhood adventures with his brothers and their clubhouse - The Dangerous Snake and Reptile Club and Space Station Mars. They are great for sparking imagination and creativity. Hope you are doing great, and are feeling better. talk with you soon
